Christopher Michael DeLoach
Christopher DeLoach is a self-taught multidisciplinary artist whose work examines the collision of language, commerce, memory, and cultural consumption. Working across painting, sculpture, installation, graphic design, merchandise, and editioned objects, he appropriates the visual systems of advertising, retail, institutional branding, and popular culture - often with an irreverence that treats seriousness itself as something worth destabilizing.
DeLoach is interested in the point at which an image becomes a product, a slogan becomes ideology, and a joke becomes a commodity. His work often circulates through the same commercial systems it critiques, collapsing distinctions between artwork, merchandise, souvenir, advertisement, and cultural artifact. Humor, provocation, and familiarity operate as entry points, but the work is ultimately concerned with authorship, value, desire, and the afterlife of images once they enter public circulation.
Rooted in an outsider relationship to both the art world and traditional design practice, his work is intuitive, irreverent, and materially promiscuo
